Terms of service
Last updated
This document is a general template and does not constitute legal advice; review by a qualified lawyer is recommended.
These terms cover your use of this service, its website, and everything on it. By using it you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the service. Read them alongside our privacy policy.
1 What this service is
This is an information and education product for people who follow crypto markets. It shows market data, charts, news and research, it maps the ecosystem, and it runs a game and learning layer on top of that. It is a place to look at markets and to practise thinking about them.
It is not a bank, a broker, an exchange, a custodian or a money transmitter. We do not hold your funds and we never take custody of your assets.
2 Nothing here is financial advice
Nothing on this service is financial, investment, trading, tax, accounting or legal advice, and nothing on it is a recommendation, offer or solicitation to buy, sell or hold anything. Every figure, signal, score, ranking, article, analysis and piece of commentary is general information published to an audience, not guidance about your situation.
Using this service does not make us your broker, dealer, adviser, agent or fiduciary, and it creates no advisory, brokerage or fiduciary relationship of any kind. We do not know your circumstances, your goals or your risk tolerance, and we are not assessing whether anything is suitable for you. Every decision you make is yours. Take professional advice from someone licensed where you live before you commit money.
3 Markets are risky and you can lose money
Crypto assets and tokenized instruments are volatile. Prices can move sharply in either direction, at any hour, with no warning. You can lose some or all of what you put in, and in leveraged or thinly traded markets you can lose it quickly.
Liquidity can disappear, a market can gap through the price you meant to trade at, a token can go to zero, a protocol can fail, and a chain or a wallet can suffer an outage or an exploit. Past performance says nothing certain about future performance. Never commit money you cannot afford to lose.
4 Where the data comes from, and what it is worth
Prices, candles, liquidity figures, token metadata, news, social data and derivatives observations come from third-party sources, including market data providers, social platforms and public blockchains. We pass that data through and present it. We do not produce it and we cannot audit it.
All of it is provided as is. We make no warranty that it is accurate, complete, current, uninterrupted or fit for any purpose. It can be delayed, stale, partial, mispriced or simply wrong, and a source can go down without telling us. Where the product can tell that data is stale or unavailable it says so, but do not rely on that as a guarantee. Check anything that matters against the venue you are actually trading on before you act on it.
5 Statistics, models and anything that looks forward
Where this service reports how often something happened before, that is a measurement of a past sample under stated rules. It is a description of history. It is not a probability, it is not odds, and it is not a forecast of what will happen next.
Where this service reports an estimate produced by a model, it is an estimate. It carries the assumptions, the scope and the age of the evidence behind it, and it can be wrong. Nothing here is a guarantee of a future price, a future outcome or a future return, and nothing here should be read as one.
6 Your wallet, your keys, your transactions
This service is non-custodial. We never hold, control or have access to your private keys, your seed phrase or your funds. Any transaction is signed by you, in your own wallet, and is broadcast to a public blockchain.
You are responsible for the security of your wallet, your device, your seed phrase and your credentials, for the token approvals you grant, and for reviewing every transaction before you sign it. Blockchain transactions are typically irreversible. We cannot cancel one, reverse one, or recover funds sent to the wrong address, lost to a failed or malicious contract, or lost to a phishing site. Network fees, slippage and the route a trade takes are yours as well.
7 Your account and how you may use the service
If you hold an account, keep your credentials to yourself and tell us if you think somebody else has them. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
Do not use this service to break the law, to manipulate a market, to defraud anyone, or to infringe anybody’s rights. Do not attempt to break, overload, probe or circumvent the service, its rate limits or its access controls, do not scrape it beyond ordinary use, do not resell or redistribute its data feeds, and do not use it to build a competing product out of the same feeds. We may suspend or close an account, remove content, or withdraw access, at our discretion, for abuse or suspected abuse, and we may do so without notice where the abuse is ongoing.
8 Eligibility and where you are
You must be old enough to enter a binding contract where you live, and you must not be a person or in a place that applicable sanctions or laws bar from using a service like this one. You are responsible for whether using this service, and doing anything you do because of it, is lawful where you are. We may restrict access by location.
9 Third-party services and links
The service links to and integrates with things we do not control: wallets, block explorers, exchanges, routing providers, data providers and other websites. We are not responsible for them, for their content, or for what they do with anything you give them. Their terms and their privacy policies are between you and them.
10 The service can change or stop
We may add, change, suspend, restrict or discontinue any part of the service at any time, including features described here, and we may do it without notice. Some things are experimental and may never leave that state. We are not liable to you for any change, suspension or discontinuation.
11 No warranties
The service is provided as is and as available. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law we disclaim all warranties, express, implied or statutory, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, title, accuracy, and any warranty that the service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error free.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this clause may not apply to you.
12 Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, trading opportunity, goodwill or data, however caused and on any theory of liability, arising out of or connected with your use of this service or your inability to use it. That includes losses arising from your trading or investment decisions, from data that was wrong, late or missing, and from any third-party service the product depends on.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or one hundred United States dollars.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, such as liability for fraud, for fraudulent misrepresentation, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this clause may not apply to you.
13 You cover claims that come from your use
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, damages, losses and reasonable costs, including legal fees, arising out of your use of the service, your breach of these terms, or your breach of any law or of anybody else’s rights.
14 Our content and yours
The service, its software, its design, its text and its brand belong to us or to our licensors, and nothing here transfers ownership of any of it to you. You get a personal, revocable, non-exclusive licence to use the service for its intended purpose.
Anything you submit stays yours. By submitting it you give us the permission we need to store it, display it back to you, and operate the service with it. Do not submit anything you do not have the right to submit.
15 Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page is when they last changed, and the version on this page is the version that applies. If you keep using the service after a change, you accept the updated terms. If you do not accept them, stop using the service.
16 Governing law
These terms, and any dispute arising out of them or out of the service, are governed by the laws of [JURISDICTION], without regard to its conflict of law rules, and the courts of [JURISDICTION] have exclusive jurisdiction over them. Where the law where you live gives you rights that cannot be contracted away, those rights stand.
If a court finds any part of these terms unenforceable, the rest stays in force. A right we do not enforce immediately is not a right we have waived.
